Chapter 15: Discovering the Spirit Herb
----------------
Little Hua followed Love Poetry's gaze and saw her father sitting under a big tree behind a vendor's stall. He was looking around with a thoughtful expression, and there was an old man with a long white beard next to him.
Little Hua felt a bit uneasy. Her father was actually working at a stall on New Year's Day. Tang Ailian had mixed feelings about her younger uncle, as he was good at making money but also had a gambling problem. Whatever he earned, he often lost it through gambling.
She took a look at what her younger uncle was selling and noticed it was a pile of medicinal herbs. She couldn't help but feel puzzled. Who would buy medicinal herbs on New Year's Day? Her younger uncle must have lost at gambling again.
This time, he had brought some medicinal herbs to sell. Love Poetry realized that these herbs were all nourishing herbs, and there might still be people interested in buying them on New Year's Day. Plus, it was unlikely anyone would report him today.
He was good at finding opportunities to make money.
Love Poetry noticed that these herbs still had their roots attached, and a thought suddenly crossed her mind. What if she could plant these herbs in her space? As she thought about it, her telekinesis unconsciously extended, examining the herbs.
Suddenly, she sensed a surge of vitality. Love Poetry's heart skipped a beat. Among these herbs, there was something precious! She focused her attention on each herb, and finally, she found a tiny grass clinging to one of the herbs.
The grass was small, with only two leaves and about an inch tall. It was barely visible if you didn't look closely.
The memories from her past life as a shaman immediately surfaced in Love Poetry's mind. Shamans had various methods of treatment, including chants and spells combined with hand gestures, as well as various forms of acupuncture, herbal medicine, and stones. Traditional Chinese medicine in later years had evolved from shamanistic practices. Therefore, Love Poetry recognized the medicinal herbs without needing to learn. Once the conditions were met, this knowledge became her own.
While it was normal for her, this time, when she saw the herbs, her memories were triggered. She recognized that this wasn't just any medicinal herb; it was a Spirit Herb called Silverheart Grass.
According to her memories, Silverheart Grass grew on cliffs facing east and possessed a strong life force. It was mainly used to refine Reviving Pills, known for their life-saving properties.
"I must obtain this Spirit Herb and plant it in my space!" Love Poetry's heart raced.
She realized that the space she had discovered earlier, the "medicine well," was actually a space for growing medicinal herbs. The well was used to provide the herbs with spiritual water for irrigation.
Love Poetry watched the herbs on her uncle's stall and contemplated how to get her hands on that precious herb. She couldn't afford to buy it since she had no money. She was still young and couldn't make purchases. Besides, the herb was probably too expensive for her.
Love Poetry suddenly started crying, drawing attention to herself. Her crying was unusual since she rarely cried. However, she cried even louder when she saw her uncle.
Love Poetry's crying puzzled her sister, Love Poetry. She was always a well-behaved child who rarely cried, so why was she suddenly crying when she saw their younger uncle? Love Poetry quickly tried to comfort her sister. "Don't cry, Love. What's wrong?"
Love Poetry was feeling uncomfortable being pushed by her sister while carrying her. She continued to cry and twist her body.
"Maybe she's feeling uncomfortable because she's been squeezed too much," Love Poetry guessed. She knew how crowded the market could be on New Year's Day.
Little Hua suddenly suggested, "Maybe she needs to use the bathroom."
Love Poetry was concerned. "Please don't pee on your sister's back. Love, we'll take you to Daddy's place."
Love Poetry knew that her father's stall would be relatively less crowded since most people were crowded in front of the vendors. Her sister would also have a chance to relieve herself.
The two sisters struggled to reach their father's stall. Love Poetry called out to her father, and Little Hua called out to her younger uncle. They ignored the disdainful look their father gave them and freed Love Poetry from her sister's back.
Once Love Poetry was on the ground, she stopped crying. Her eyes sparkled as she crawled toward the herbs on the ground, reaching out her small hands to grab them.
Seeing this, Tang Shui Sheng panicked and quickly grabbed the herbs from Love Poetry's hands. Love Poetry immediately started crying loudly again. Tang Shui Sheng didn't know what to do and tried to comfort her with a lollipop, feeling quite ridiculous for using candy to console a child.
He scolded Little Hua, "You two little devils, take Love away from here!"
"I want some water!" Little Hua was determined today. She knew her father wouldn't scold her on New Year's Day.
Tang Shui Sheng sighed and gave Little Hua the water bottle. She drank it all in one go and then handed it to Love Poetry. As Love Poetry was about to take a sip, Tang Shui Sheng scolded her again, "You little rascal, put it down!"
Love Poetry was about to put the bottle down, but she also wanted to grab another medicinal herb. She refused to give up, so she continued crying loudly, protecting the wild ginseng seedling in her hand. Although the ginseng seedling was small, she had her space, and she could put it inside.
Tang Shui Sheng, feeling helpless, took a lollipop and tried to comfort her. "Come on, Love, Uncle will give you candy. Can you give the ginseng to Uncle?"
He realized how absurd it was to use candy to persuade a child, especially when Love Poetry was only four months old. However, what he didn't know was that this four-month-old child had the knowledge and soul of someone in her thirties.
